A few details now
can make the pickup easier
If you are arranging towing in Benton Harbor, have the pickup, vehicle condition and destination ready. Call 269-925-0603 to request service; this guide and checklist do not submit a request.
Give a location
the operator can use
Share the street address and nearest intersection. In a parking lot, identify the entrance and where the vehicle is parked. For a driveway, mention a narrow gate, steep access or another car blocking the vehicle.
For I-94 or I-196, give the route, direction of travel and nearest signed exit or mile marker. For M-139, Napier Avenue or another local road, an address and cross street are more useful than a general area.

Tick the details as you gather them. This checklist does not send a service request.

Tell us what the vehicle can do
Starts, rolls and steers
These are separate questions. A vehicle can fail to start but still roll; another may start but have a wheel that cannot move. Describe each part as accurately as you can.
Vehicle-specific loading details →Damage and restrictions
Mention a missing or damaged wheel, visible collision damage, low ground clearance, modifications or a locked parking brake. Describe what you know rather than trying a release procedure you are unfamiliar with.
Discuss the towing method →AWD, four-wheel drive, hybrid or EV
Give the exact model and year. Manufacturer requirements vary, so tell the operator about the drivetrain and consult the towing or transport section of your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
Find manufacturer guidance →Keys and access
Tell us if the keys are available, locked inside or missing. Ask what proof of authorization is needed for the service you are requesting.
Read vehicle lockout information →Choose the destination
before the truck is arranged
Give the repair shop, home or other requested destination. Confirm that the receiver can accept the vehicle and that the location is accessible.
For a shop after hours, ask where the vehicle should be parked, how the keys should be handed over and whether a gate will be locked. Share those instructions with dispatch. A location that appears open on a map may still have specific receiving arrangements.
More about towing delivery →Before the handover
- Confirm the destination and callback details
- Ask about the estimate and any change in scope
- Tell the operator about existing damage and vehicle restrictions
- Discuss any belongings or keys that need to accompany the vehicle
- Arrange your own travel if passenger space is unavailable
Ask about passenger capacity before dispatch. Do not assume every truck can carry everyone travelling in the vehicle.
What is included,
and what happens next?
Ask for the current arrival estimate and what the quote covers. If insurance or a roadside plan is involved, check its approval requirements before arranging a service you expect it to cover.
Read the towing-cost guide or common towing questions if you need more detail.
